While most traditional distribution channels were shuttered in early phases of the pandemic, digital commerce was thriving. And it wasn’t just consumers ordering online: 51% of all companies now purchase at least 50% of their goods and services online, according to a July/August Digital Commerce 360 B2B buyer’s survey shared in this report.
The survey, conducted of 85 purchasing executives, indicates that about 40% of all businesses now make at least one digital purchase weekly or multiple times each week. Younger purchasing managers, who prefer making purchases online vs. offline, are reportedly driving this trend.
